Building A Community To Foster Love

Every child deserves a family! At Project Orphans, we believe that children of all ages do best in a family setting versus an institutionalized orphanage. Our organization is currently pioneering a new way of care for the orphaned in Uganda, Africa. How? By raising a network of Ugandan foster mothers who are committed to supporting the orphaned or abused children — by raising them as their own!

When a child is brought to our organization, we work to get him or her placed into a loving home as quickly as possible. Jaja Patience is one of our foster mothers who believes she was placed on this earth to take care of abandoned and neglected children.

During the pandemic, our organization took placement of many teenaged girls and their younger siblings, so that they weren't separated. Pearl Village has been a shelter for these children and has provided a safe home, healthy meals, medical care, and psychological wellness.  However, it is now time to transition these children from our campus and place them with a family who desires to make a difference and share unconditional love.

In the coming months, we will be breaking ground on a piece of property that is adjacent to our campus, Pearl Village.  Our vision is to build our trained foster mothers, often single mothers who have been abandoned by their husbands, a home where they can live securely while taking abandoned children and adopting them as their own!

“I am grateful to be a mother to my new daughters,” shares Jaja Patience as tears fill her eyes. “My purpose on this earth is to serve the Lord, and I know this is part of my opportunity to show these babies love and care for them as my own.”

Jaja Patience has extended her passion to serve by filling the role of mother to Juliana (11 yrs.) and Kisakye (7 yrs.), young sisters who currently are living on our campus due to abuse. Tears flowed down the girl’s faces as they hugged Jaja and learned that Project Orphans would be placing them together forever!

Jaja Patience will be the first recipient to receive a home built by Project Orphans.  Each foster care home costs approximately $8,000 USD and provides a fully furnished three-bedroom home with a small living area. Although the homes will not have extravagant finishings, each home is structurally sound and equipped with electricity, flooring, and secure doors — amenities that many homes do not have in Uganda.

With your help, it is our goal to soon break ground on Jaja Patience’s home along with three other homes which will be placed adjacent to our campus!
